As name suggests, Battery tester, is a device used to check the state of an electronic battery. Battery testing involves testing of charge present in the cells and its voltage output, plus a comprehensive checking of battery condition i.e. capacity of battery for accumulating charge and any other flaws, which may affect battery’s performance. There are many types of battery testers, first one is electronic battery tester, which is digital tester and is used to check the remaining capacity of the battery. Second one is Domestic battery tester, this tester is used for rechargeable cylindrical batteries, Third type is universal battery tester, these testers are suitable to use with batteries of different sizes. These can be used to test small batteries to large automotive batteries. Fourth type is car battery tester, which is used to test lead-acid batteries. Load is applied to to battery and its voltage and current is checked.
An insulation tester is used to measure insulation resistance, and is useful when there is electrical work is to be carried out and it is to be ensured that any wiring mistake is not done or insulation is not damaged. Because, a failed insulation can cause fuse to blow, or circuit breaker to trip and it can even result in electrical shock to the people, who are working with poorly insulated wire. To use insulation tester, as a first step, you should switch-off the power of the circuit, which you are testing. Then, applying different voltages, measure the resistance between the wires and wire to ground. Insulation resistance of electrical systems may change with time, humidity, temperature, moisture and dust particles. It also changes due to impact of presence of electrical and mechanical stress, so, it is important to check the insulation resistance of equipment, on regular basis.
Impedance is an important parameter of electric components and electrical circuits, to characterize them, and also to characterize materials used to make components. Impedance analyzer is a test equipment which is used to measure complex electrical impedance as a function of test frequency. Impedance is a function of frequency and therefore, for measuring impedances at different frequencies, there are different types of impedance analyzers are available, ranging from ultra low frequency to ultra high frequency. One of the advantage of impedance analyzer is that it allows to perform tests without destroying the object. Many materials can be analyzed with an impedance analyzer.
